Remove from the heat and add the 6 bags of tea. Steep for 5-7 minutes.
After the 5-7 minutes have passed, remove the tea bags and put into your compost.
Add the sugar and baking soda to the hot water and whisk until all the sugar has dissolved.
Add the tea to a pitcher, add the additional 6 cups of cold water. Stir and refrigerate until chilled to serve.
Notes
If you would like stronger tea, let the tea bags steep for 15 minutes.This recipe if a family favorite, however, you can adjust the strength of the tea by steeping more or less than the instructions.You can also adjust the sugar. If it is too sweet, cut back to a 1/2 a cup. The beauty of this recipe is that you can adjust it to your liking!
